I am sooooo grateful for my friends and family today. I am also grateful for all of the wonderful blessings the Goddess has bestowed upon me!!! Who could ask for anything more out of life!!

Things are changing at both an exciting and scary pace for me, scary in a good way though. I have also decided to slow life way down and enjoy every minute of my family and friends as often as I can. I have stepped back from a few obligations so that I can take a much needed break in life. I have been going at such a busy pace these last 5 1/2 years and realized I need to slow way down for my physical and mental health. No worries I will still be here, just starting to say no to some things and being a little selfish, if you will.

Looking back at these past six years, I thought this time in my life would never come. I had many good and just as many bad days my entire school career. There were times when I almost gave up and quit but my family and friends convinced me to keep going and never give up. So here I am, almost 6 years and one school major change later, set to become a licensed social worker. I actually started out going for my RN degree after working as a nurse's aid for five years. As I went along in school I realized that I wanted to be able to do something more. This is when my mentor came into my life. My sociology prof is a MSW, LCSW. It is because of her I am close to becoming who I was meant to be. Yes there have been some harsh sacrifices, having to get help from health and welfare, and lots of help from friends and family and my relationship with my oldest son is strained but, I know that will turn around when the time is right. These sacrifices and hard time have made me a stronger person. I am not the same person who started her college career in 2003 at a local community college. I can't believe, at times, that I have been a full time student for all this time. Now I get to go out and be a professional worker. How scary is that! No, I know I am where I am meant to be and the events in my life all happened for a reason, whether I like them or not. What I want to say here is, never give up on yourself or your dreams no matter what happens. You will survive it and be all the better for it. Just remember that you are loved, someone is always there for you and it is okay to ask for help when needed. That last one bit me in the arse a few times. I can be too stubborn and independant for my own good at times. A toast to all of my friends and family out there! Thank you for all you have done for me!
